French cottage dollhouse stonework and shutters progress

I used Creative Paper Clay for the stone work on my French cottage. HERE is a link to some specific stone making tips on my older blog.

I would also highly recommend purchasing the late Rik Pierce’s tutorial book HERE.

Here are some step photos that show my process.

Patching cracks after it dries...

Adding depth.

Painting a wash over the dry clay.

After painting the stonework. Start darker because it will dry light. Do tests first.

The shutter were made from mat board as well. The handles are card stock. After I glued them on the facade.

White glue was added to make a painted over bolt top on the handles.
