Dollhouse horse stable

I’ve never made a 1:12 horse stable before. I have, however, made one in the Barble scale when I was a kid. It was a cardboard box with straw inside and it had doors and windows. I was very proud of it, but then this new girl that moved into our neighborhood destroyed it when I had it outside. That entire family ended up being trouble and also ended any peace and happiness we had in our neighborhood. But I’m still very grateful for the 10 years we had before them. There were about 4-5 kids and we grew up together. I met them at 4 years old.

We grew up and I led Bigfoot expeditions through our woods, we played baseball on a steep hill because it was the only open space we had. It was a fast run down the hill to home base!

We played on the ice when the river froze and rode our bikes everywhere! Good times and lots of adventures. Ok back to the cottage stable!

I still need to add a ladder, tools, hay, horse gear and other things. The floor is tile grout that was sprayed with water before and after I sprinkled it in. This makes it harden and stay in place. I aged the wood panels inside to look as if the horse had kicked them here and there.

Both sections of the doors open. All of the hardware was made with wire and card stock.

The ramp inside the door was made from paper clay.

There still needs to be added support under the rafter. I also want to make an old-fashioned saddle bench, this will be carved from Balsa wood. It’s a tight fit in there for the horse but it’s better than staying outside in a storm!
